…and He will have no lack of gain.
The second half of verse 11 says that her husband will have no lack of gain. This is more accurately translated as, he has no need for spoils. This was written during a time in Israel’s history is full of war. After winning battles, men would bring home spoils of war.
But this man, this husband of a mighty woman of God, has no need of spoils of war. All he needs he finds in his wife. According to Matthew Henry in his commentary on Proverbs 31 this is because that his wife ‘contributes so much to his content and satisfaction.’
She is a well of blessings to her her husband and manages their household well. There is no need for spoil because they have all that they need.
The woman of God is a blessing to her husbands life and to the lives of those around her. She contributes to their happiness; to their well-being. She is a positive influence in their lives.
This piece ties in well with the next verse which we will look at next week.
How can we be a blessing to those around us?
